For students who want a structured route from learning concepts to showing hands-on skill, with an instructor deciding whether the practical meets the standard. Taught from founder Isabel Mendez's actively booked Redondo Beach studio.
Theory first: written modules cover consultation, client screening, machine use, sanitation and aftercare, each followed by a knowledge check.
Then the final assessment, which requires a passing score of 80%.
Practice last: you submit a demonstration video. An instructor reviews it and either approves it or not. A certificate is issued only after approval and once the academy finalizes certification requirements.
The academy does not interpret Georgia law or decide who may practice. One official place to begin is the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers (Georgia Secretary of State); it may not cover every service or device, so also confirm with your city or county before offering services.
